Love the versatility Feb 17, 2010 I bought this for my daughter who was 6 weeks old at the time. She looks at the lights and the music is loud but doesn't seem to bother her. My 3 year old son, loves playing with it with her. One disappointment is with the kick bar--a 6 week old doesn't kick hard enough to activate it. It's just a plastic footrest that when kicked hard enough, jossels the whole thing which activates the sound. When she does kick it, the whole thing moves, so you'd probably want to place it against a wall or against something to keep it from pushing away.
It was pretty simple to assemble and took only about 5-10 minutes to get everything out of the box and put together. There are only 8 screws (4 on each side) and 2 other knobs that screw in.
I love the fact that as she grows, it grows with her, eventually becoming a little desk. For the price, that's a great value. Other floor gyms that had lights and music ran around $50 and didn't grow with them, so I chose this one and am very pleased with it.
most used toy ever Feb 12, 2010 We've had the toy now for 3 years and our kids still with it on a daily basis. I can't say of many other toys that they have been used as often. We only had to replace the batteries once after about 2 years. It's sturdy and my kids love the music. I would definitely recommend this toy.
not as fun as the old kick start gym, which has been discontinued, but baby still plays with it some. Jan 18, 2010 my older kids all played with the old kick start gym when they were babies, and we loved it. it totally kept their attention for a really long time, starting at just 2 months of age. then as they got older they'd play with the toys on the sides. but it broke after 4 kids and we wanted to get a new one for our 5th baby. we were very disappointed to learn that it has been discontinued. so after searching we found this toy, which seemed similar. the downside is that there is no kicking to activate the lights and music. that was the best part about the kick start. he swats at the hanging down toys a little, but at 3 1/2 months he doesn't play with it as much as my other boys did with the kick start.
Loud but daughter loved it! Nov 02, 2009 It is pretty loud, so we put a piece of duct tape over the speaker and that fixed that problem. I love the many different positions you can use and my daughter would sit on the bench and pulled up for the first time using it! She never got bored with it and we would even take it to friends houses because we knew she would stay entertained. She used it for over a year, the longest I ever got out of one toy. She loved this toy and now it is about to be baby number 2's toy. I'm even buying one for our friend's son for Christmas.
GOOG ITEM / SOME CONCERN'S Sep 12, 2009 THIS WORK'S GREAT KID LOVE'S IT BUT AFTER A WEEK, I SEEM TO HAVE A SAFETY CONCERN, WHEN THE CHILD SIT'S IT'S EASY FOR THEM TO FALL OFF (NO BACK SUPPORT)SO I WOULD CONSIDER ANOTHER PRODUCT,THAT OFFER SOME TYPE OF SUPPORT FOR THE KID'S.
