Fun but not everlasting Nov 23, 2009 My 8 year old daughter received this as a gift a year ago. It has been used daily for tumbling and dancing on, however it is now starting to get holes through-out it. It is a great mat for the price, but the quality could definitely be a bit better as we are now in need of a new one.

Play mat Sep 11, 2009 Bought this mat for my 9 month old. Have had it for less than 2 months and it is ripping at the handles. Surprised considering it was over a [...].
Big, big sturdy mat - great for kids and great for adults for exercise! Sep 10, 2009 I bought this tumbling mat to use when I exercise in front of the tv because it's large, sturdy and folds nicely for storage. I'm an average size adult woman, but my husband frequently steals my mat and he's almost 6'. I've never seen such a big mat other than the expensive ones that are sold mostly to schools. This mat is fairy firm foam, not too squishy, so kids will be nicely protected when they play. Since it's such a good size and made of heavy-duty vinyl, it stays put pretty well on a solid floor, which makes it a little safer for kids than the small cheap mats that that tend to slide out from under them. I've found it to be very durable after using it for about 5 years. Dog toenails make a small puncture, but don't result in a long tear like in cheap vinyl. It's lightweight so it would be easy for kids to get out and put away by themselves and it's divided into sections, so it folds up easily. My kids would also have used it standing on it's side as a divider wall, a fort or whatever when they were younger. I've never seen a mat like this outside of a school and would highly recommend this to any parent or a living room exerciser such as myself :-)

Not for Tumbling Jul 28, 2009 I would not recommend this mat for any tumbling. The surface is too slippery for the child to maintain any traction. The mat is also NOT soft. The top 1/2 inch is soft, BUT the backing is a hard cardboard that makes the mat to hard for tumbling. I could see this mat being useful for a baby or toddler for safety, but nothing past that. My daughter is in gymnastics, and this mat was useless. My daughter was barely 4yrs old when I purchased the mat and weighed 35 pounds (if that). She couldn't even hold her bridge on it - her feet kept slipping out from under her. She could only do a couple forward or backward rolls before her head was sore.
I have not had any issues with the durability. She has used it for other purposes (doing roundoffs and cartwheels over it when folded - as a place holder). She used it as a slide off the couch, and other imaginative ways. I have gotten my money's worth in that respect. It has been used and abused over the last year or so and has held up well. It just cannot be used for tumbling, gymnastics or cheerleading.
Great! Jun 20, 2009 This mat is very soft and so far pretty durable. It is light weight and easy to fold up and put away
